Halloween Grave Peeper

\
This is my first outdoor prop. I got the idea from Hauntforum.com and Halloweenforum.com. I put red LED lights in the skull's eye sockets. Looked pretty creepy at night. The Tombstone is from Back to the Future 3. It's Dr. Emmett Brown's tombstone from the old west.

Holes in Walls

I found this project on Hauntforum.  A low cost way to add character to your walls. I put them all over the house.  I had my landlord over and told him that plaster was falling off the walls. He walked in and had a heart attack!  I told him they were fake and he laughed. click here for the original tutorial

Used shelf paper with wood grain and cut it into strips.

Then glued them to black poster-board.
Painted shadows and cut in irregular shapes.
Put on the wall with poster gum.

Used Sharpie marker for nails.

Halloween 2010 Video

This is a video I put together of my haunted house set up. I had a lightning machine hooked up to two work flood lights with two 500 watt photo bulbs (one was blue and the other was white.) I also had a 400 watt fogger hooked up to a pvc pipe that I drilled holes in the top and du
ck taped one end shut . I put frozen water bottles in the pipe to cool down the fog.  My son dressed up as Jason Voorhees and terrorized the neighborhood kids. I had a hologram in the window courtesy of big scream tv. I got a lot of my ideas off of hauntforum and halloweenforum.

Halloween Horror Movie Poster Contest

I made this video to play at our Halloween party, but I didn't get to play it, so I'm going to save it for next year.

Boarded up windows

Here are some pics of my boarded up windows. I covered all the windows in the front and sides except for one window in the back right and the  entire back of the house. It was a pain in the butt to cover the top floor, so I had to borrow my neighbor's extension ladder. I made the window covers using advice from HauntForum and HalloweenForum  I had a friend who's old shed was falling down and I prided off some old wood siding and cut them to size. I nailed them to pieces of wood I cut in half and it really worked out because the wood siding was really light. Each window covering are like picture frames hung with wire. I screwed wire to the frames then wrapped the wire around screws I screwed in-between the siding in the corners of the windows.  I put screws at the top left and right of the window. I should have put some at the bottom because we had 55 mile an hour winds right before Halloween and two of the frames fell down and one completely flipped around!  I had to re-attack them (ahhhggghh!!!)  I'm thinking if I put some screws at the bottom of the window the wind wouldn't have picked them up in the air and they would have stayed in place.

I had the windows boarded up before I started any other decorations and people were asking if the house had been in a fire or it was a meth house that blew up. It was the talk of the town! I put red lights in the top windows. Looked very creepy.
I painted the frame wood white to match the house

You can see the wood is painted white in this shot

Obelisk Grave Stone

I made a obelisk grave stone out of a dollar tree Styrofoam cooler, poster board, drylok, wood putty and glue. I flipped the cooler upside down and cut out the pasteboard's and glued them together to form the top. I used the wood putty to fill in all the cracks. I put about three layers of drylok to cover the whole thing. I painted it by tea staining, then adding some white. I think it turned out pretty good for what was used.
